About Portland
Portland is an incredible place to experience all that the Northwest has to offer…and more. Farmers markets, walking neighborhoods, concerts, local wineries, and the list goes on and on. As realtors, we want to be a resource for our friends and clients on how to enjoy all that makes Portland a great place to live.
Neighborhoods: Our fabulous city has a plethora of neighborhoods, all with their own flavor and style.
Walking: With fuel prices escalating and mobility changing, walking neighborhoods are more desirable than ever. Walkscore will help you navigate your way around any neighborhood, while rating it’s “walkability”
Parks and Recreation: With such a healthy park and recreating system, Portland is a great place to play. Our beloved parks are a great place to walk your dog, take a class, or listen to a free concert.
Portland Public Transportation: Portland is renowned for its public transportation system, helpful for both locals and visitors. The system is made up of four parts.
· Tri-Met Bus System: More than half of TriMet’s bus lines run through the transit mall along Southwest Fifth and Sixth avenues.
· MAX Light Rail: Continuing to bring various parts of the greater metropolitan city closer
· Portland Streetcar: Runs on a 2.4-mile route from Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital at NW 23rd Avenue, on Lovejoy and Northrup, through the Pearl District and on 10th and 11th avenues to Portland State University. Stops every 2 to 3 blocks.
· Vintage Trolley: Connects downtown to the eastside’s Lloyd Center District, running daily, May to December, weekends only in March and April, and on vacation in January and February.
If you’re traveling within downtown, you can hop on the bus, streetcar or light rail and travel for free anywhere within the “Fareless Square,” which includes most of downtown Portland bounded by the Willamette River, NW Irving Street, and the I-405 freeway, as well as MAX stations from the Rose Quarter to Lloyd Center and bus stops along NE Multnomah to 13th Avenue. If you’re going outside this area, buy tickets on the station platforms.
Multicultural Portland: Our diversity continues to expand furthering our cultural base as people make Portland their new home
